I've got:

Duke over Wisconsin
Georgetown over Memphis

with Georgetown winning the National Championship

I think Duke is going to make a resurgence in the playoffs, and someone is going to upset Florida along the way...same with North Carolina

Wisconsin can beat Florida so if the Badgers are to get to the final four they better hope Arizona or Maryland knock off the Gators because they don't match up at all against UF.

Duke may get beat by VCU...they are a dangerous team but if they do beat the Rams, I think Pittsburgh will send them home the next game.

I agree with Georgetown...a very dangerous team that came close to knocking out Florida last year.

Finally I have to go with Ohio State in the south...I think the brackets set up well for them. so my final four is...

Florida
UCLA
Georgetown
Ohio State

With OSU playing Florida...and hopefully the results are a little different this time. But Florida has to be the favorite to win it all.

I think it would die if UF played OSU and UF won again...

I agree that Georgetown is very tough team...I don't see Duke in the Final Four...OSU has a pretty good bracket. I think Memphis is the weakest #2...I see UCLA back in the Final Four again as well.

Maryland, UCLA, UNC and Louisville.

Maryland defeats Florida in Sweet 16 then Oregon in the Elite 8.
UCLA over Kansas in the Elite 8.
UNC squeaks past Texas in the Sweet 16 before crushing BC, who defeated Georgetown.
Ohio State defeats a rugged UVA team but then falls to Louisville's quickness.

Oregon, Kansas, G'town, & Texas A&M. I surprised myself with Oregon but it is possible that they only will need a big win in the region final to advance. Wisc is a shell of itself from a month ago and the rest of the teams on their side are beatable.

Maryland is my darkhorse
OSU (No bias here)
Kansas
Georgetown (They gave FL all they could handle last year plus the manhandled tOSU in the second round. With Hibbert hack they will be a tough out.

When was the last time the final seeds added up to less than 10? Look at all of ESPN's picks. They are all 1,1,1,2; 1,2,2,1; 1,1,3,1; etc.... It has been a Looooong time since a #4 or lower has NOT made the final four.....

uh, that would be 2004. Duke was a 1, UConn and Oklahoma State were 2s, and Georgia Tech was a 3.

Duke? I have VCU beating them in the first round. This is NOT a good duke team.

I think the final 4 will be

Oregon
Texas
Kansas
OSU

If this OSU team were wearing Duke uniforms the talking heads would be saying they are without question the team to beat. Oden is finally healthy and playing well and the team defense is as good as anyone in the country.

As for the Louiseville quickness... Id take my chances with OSU in an up and down game.

Georgetown is tough, as is Texas A&M. Oregon and 'Lavada' could be sleepers.
OSU got a wake up call the other day. Perhaps that is what they needed. Florida and UCLA, although flat at times in both their games, should be in Final Four as well.

After reading Dr. Buckeye's posts on a past tourney game between Duke vs. Xavier, I have been waiting to read a post on the Xavier-OSU game from this year's tournament. Seems that he would be equally shocked about the closeness of both games.

I'm off to Las Vegas tomorrow :)

I started working for Xavier in April of 1999 and dreaded the day the Bucks and Muskies hooked up on the court. I knew it would never happen in the regular season. The NCAA selection committee is famous for creating match-ups that normally wouldn't happen and I'm sure they knew a game featuring Thad Matta against his old team would make for an intriguing game.

I knew if they played up to their capabilities that Xavier could give the Buckeyes troubles. They can be a good three point shooting team and Drew Lavendar is an excellent point guard who protects the ball well. I didn't expect Justin Cage to play as well as he did and it was a shame that he missed the foul shot that allowed OSU to tie the game. If it wasn't for him, OSU would have won the game by 10-15 in regulation.

I went to the game and sat with the Xavier fans. I was pulling for Ohio State but really didn't show much emotion throughout...the only time I showed any excitement was when Lewis buried the game tying 3 pointer. I truly felt bad for the Muskies and still wish they wouldn't have benn matched up against OSU. At the same time, I think the fact that they were playing their old coach brought out the best in the Muskies - they may not have played as well against another team.

As for the end of regulation, I think the ref made the right call on Oden. Unfortunately, they let the players play on that sequence - I felt Xavier could have been called for a couple fouls prior to Oden's foul - not calling the earlier fouls probably cost Xavier a shot at winning the game in regualtion. In the OT, Conley simply took over.

The three Xavier seniors have been through the wars. This game should not have surprised many people. You have to know the stories behind the stories to understand how much the Xavier fans wanted to beat Matta and I'm sure the players wanted to show their old coach that he left a pretty good basketball team. I do know this, no other #1 seed faced a tougher challenge than Ohio State - the Buckeye players had to beat their coaches former team and that team was made of of many kids who the coach recruited.

Interesting read...I dread the day FSU and LSU play in football...LSU is my alma mater, but I'm a lifelong FSU fan...there's no way I could ever pull against the Noles

I picked Gerogetown, UCLA, Florida and Ohio State to get to the Final Four and damned if they all didn't make it! Check earlier in the thread to see...
