Wow, what a big win for Boston College. That team reminds me of the 2002 Ohio State team or the 1992 Alabama team. All they do is win. The difference? Matt Ryan is way better than Craig Krenzel (Ohio State) or Jay Barker (Bama).
Boston College still has...
HOME vs Florida State
ROAD at Maryland
ROAD at Clemson
HOME vs Miami (FL)
All of those are very dangerous teams but Boston College seems to have a good overall team and I would not be surprised to see them win the ACC Atlantic Division and play either Virginia Tech or Virginia in the ACC Championship Game in Jacksonville.

I'd love to see them make it to the BCS Championship, but I still think they slip up somewhere...

They really do remind me of 02 OSU. Not their style of play, but their under-the-radar nature. I think the scariest game for them is Clemson, because Clemson is the only team that may have more raw talent than them. Clemson has top 5 talent, top 50 performance.
BC vs LSU, OSU, OU or any other top 10 would be great.

The road game at clemson will probably be their toughest game. Clemson is talented, just not well coached.
One has to wonder what Tom O'brien is thinking now having left BC for ACC bottom dweller NC State.

He's thinking... "Wow, this paycheck sure is a lot bigger than the one I was getting from Boston College!"

...he's also thinking "WHY CAN'T I FIND A GENUINE IRISH PUB AROUND RALEIGH?"....i liken BC to none of the above as the talent level at ohio st was/is always primo and bama' s '92 d was so good as to seem from another planet...but last nights game was surely reminisecent of ohio st's 10-7 (?) win over purdue when they threw the desperate long pass late for the winning TD....IF - a big IF_ Bc runs the table and htne sets up that acct tilte game., i'll bet some of the one loss bigboys will be praying for them to lose as they wont be denied a title shot at 13-0 but will be denied with one loss if okla, lsu or even oregon or usc finishes with one loss....

I think the road game at Maryland will be difficult for BC. All their remaining games are very losable, imo.

I'm happy that BC has kept its magical season alive. However, VTech really killed themselves with that roughing the punter in the end zone along with the botched play by the "hands" team. BC's comeback showed the guts of a champion though and if they run the table against 5 quality opponents, they will definitely have earned a spot on January 7th. This may sound awkward, but when BC handily defeated CMU and a quality opponent from the Championship Subdivision, I knew they were for real. We'll soon know if they're ready to win it all, but I actually think either FSU or Miami will defeat them before BC defeats Virginia in the ACC title game.

I agree with you about the UMASS game VV. The unknowledgeable look at that as a rent -a-win, but the knowledgeable know that UMASS can play...at least as well as Appy State, this year, and everyone saw what they did.

I saw the replay once on the "roughing the kicker" penalty. It didn't look like roughing to me at all. It looked like he should have gotten the 5-yard running into the kicker penalty. I'm biased, but I'm not blind. For those who watched on TV, am I wrong?

Agree with you on this Hen. All of the defenses that BC will face here on out, are similar to VT's (#13)..Clemson #10, FSU #24, MIA #31, MD #51.
Clemson can bring the upfront speed and pressure that VT did last night, as can FSU (Lord knows FSU will need to score some as well).
Death Valley will be as loud as the 3OT Miami game was recently when BC comes to town.
BC / MIA occurs 11/24. Which Miami team will show up?
Fridge usually gameplans well, but MD is really hurting from injuries.

No, you are totally on target. Should've been a 5 yard variety. 10% contact and 90% flop.

I'd add a few teams. With '07 BC, '02 OSU, and '92 'Bama, I'd add 2000 OU, '98 UT and '97 UM. Just win, baby.

you're right about the '98 UT team. that team barely escaped their 1st two ball game vs. syracuse and uf. and what about the arkansas game. does anybody remember the gift wrapped fumble clint stoner gave the vols while trying to run the clock out? that was houston nutt's 1st year, and they really threw a chance at the national title. the threw that game way against tenn. and then the next week lost on a last second fg to mississippi state. crazy.

I remember that Arkansas fumble. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger gift in a football game that had such implications. I'd be curious if anyone else can think of a bigger gift? That was such an absurd gift, the skeptic in me thinks Stoner was bought.
UT only gets a chance to win the MNC because of that. They didn't win that game, the game was given to them. That's the difference sometimes. Florida escaped with a win last year against South Carolina for their chance to beat Ohio State. And yet, it's Ohio State who gets called overrated because of how badly they lost in the title game.
